February
16th, 1-3pm – World Sound Healing Day Event, The Queen's Hall, Hexham
This is the 10th annual World Sound Healing Day for Peace when people join together in various global venues with their intentional sound to resonate our love and appreciation to Gaia, to our friends and to our global family.
On 16th February we are creating a Sound Lounge, a space to explore the senses through sound and vibration in support of the World Sound Healing Day for Peace.
Come and relax and enjoy this continous resonant soundbath and feel free to add your own vocal sound if you wish - your own sound for peace. This experience of sound and vibration will feature planetary gongs, crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls and vocal harmonics. FREE EVENT

In Nature everything exists in complementary opposition. If there were no tension, there could be no relaxation, just as without cold there could be no hot. Without opposition there would be no movement, no change, no life.
Come along to this afternoon workshop and cultivate your vital life force energy through movement, exercise, visualisation, voice and sound meditation using resonant Gongs and Tibetan Bowls.
Johanna has teamed up with Shiatsu and Macrobiotic practitioner Paul Lambeth to create this unique event for you to experience stillness, cleansing, power, revitalisation, tranquility, strength, peace and resonance.

An introduction to exploring Sound, Vibration, Resonance, Silence and Contemplation for harmony and balance. Soundtouch offers a unique Gong Bath Sound Meditation experience using a combination of Planetary Gongs (tuned to the frequencies of the Sun and the Moon which create an unusual atmosphere), silence and contemplation to still the mind, energise the body and nurture the spirit - An "out of this world experience" encouraging profound levels of relaxation and feelings of inner peace, wellbeing and focus. Please bring something to lie on (yoga mat) plus blanket cushion and warm clothes.

July
30th - 31st – Making your own Sacred Drum, Hexham
Making your own drum for ceremony, prayer and healing is very different from buying a drum from a shop. Putting your energy, breath, prayer and intent into the making becomes a co-creative act and the end product is a manifested tool of healing and personal medicine. We will be using deer skin and wood from beech, ash and walnut trees. "MAKE A DRUM - THAT'S HOW YOU LEARN TO HEAL WITH A DRUM" - Tatanka Wanagi Wichasta. This workshop is led by Steven Ash, a world renowned Drum Master and author of "Sacred Drumming".
Starting to make the drum on the Saturday, there will be an optional Native American "Pipe Ceremony" in the evening and by the Sunday you will have made a beautiful, unique and magical drum that will be treasured for life. The cost of the workshop will be £120.00 for the weekend PLUS the cost for the materials which range from £45 - £95 depending on the size of drum you want to make.
Some of the drum materials come from the USA and have to be prepared and dried two months in advance therefore the deposit is non-refundable and will vary according to drum size described below:
10" DRUM Great travelling drum, light and high tone good for journeying. Material Cost £45
13" DRUM Ideal size for women, fairly light with medium to deep tone. Material Cost £55
15" DRUM A great drum to work around the fire big sound deep and robust Material Cost £65
18"-20" DRUM Very deep strong and earthy - a challenge to make but you will never regret having, regarded as "earth drums" Material Cost £80 for 18" and £95 for 20"
Venue, food and deposit. The workshop will be held at a farm cottage near Hexham and overnight camping may be possible. Please bring food to share for the weekend, tea refreshments provided. Please provide a deposit (non refundable) to cover the cost of the drum materials of the size of drum you wish to make as priced above. Please be very clear about what you want. Sound Enquiry is a form of enquiry inspired by sound and reflection to promote deep and focused dialogue with self and others. While chanting and Gongs are used to raise awareness, instill mindfulness, and create receptive states of mind, guided fantasy and forms of reflection are used to harness the imagination and stimulate self expression. The result is to create a community of people engaged in wise words, empathic communication and honest open and creative dialogue.

21st – "Horse Whisperer", Hexham
Horse Whisperer Peter Neilson is coming to talk in Hexham on 21st August. It promises to be an inspiring and unusual talk. It was through this special love and relationship with Nod that Peter came to realise his gift for healing. He has now dedicated himself to helping others heal their animals and themselves.
You don't need to be a horse lover to enjoy Peter's fascinating talk and interactive presentation; he can inspire you in your own life - with humans and animals. His work has been the subject of profiles on BBC television, Channel 4, Borders Television and numerous newspaper articles.
